The Barnwell City Council of Barnwell, SC, will hold a public hearing at 5:30 pm on 7-10-2023 at City Hall on the following proposed amendment to the Zoning Map.
Map Amendment 2023-01 changing the zoning district designation for property owned by Peter Palmer at 674 Jackson Street, tax map # 073-11-04-015 consisting of a commercial building from Residential 15 to Neighborhood Commercial. New use requested in the proposed district change is a restaurant, which will be required to receive special exception by the Board of Zoning Appeals.
Map Amendment 2023-02 changing the zoning district designation for property owned by SC Baptist Ministries for Aging etal, on Jackson Street, tax map ID # 073-10-02-002 consisting of 33 acres of forest from Industrial to Neighborhood Commercial. New uses permitted in the proposed district include residential and mixed use retail, personal services, membership organizations, churches, schools and other service locations including restaurants with exceptions.
