Summary Full-time Position: Perform a variety of technical and administrative work in fire prevention, fire suppression, and medical first responder operations to prevent or minimize the loss of life and property by fire and emergency medical conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Fire and Medical First Responder operations.
Follows policies and procedures for Fire Department operations in order to implement directives from the Fire Chief.
Responds to alarms and may direct activities at the scene of emergencies, as required.
Participates in the departmental in-service training activities.
Interacts with other Fire/EMS officials, community and business representatives and the public on all aspects of the Department's activities.
Education and/or Experience
High school graduation with related experience. Preferably some hours of credits earned in an accredited university, college, or technical school in a related field combined with satisfactory performance in a role involving firefighting. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university is a plus.

INVITATION TO BID
The City of Barnwell will accept sealed bids for the Fuller Park Splashpad/Playground Sitework, which includes stripping grass and topsoil, filling, grading and respreading topsoil in preparation of a site at Fuller Park for a splash pad and playground. Performance and Labor/Materials (Payment) Bonds will be required at 100% from the awarded bidder.
Sealed bids will be received by the Owner until 2:00 PM on November 2, 2020 at Barnwell City Hall at 130 Main Street, Barnwell, SC, 29812 at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. No bids accepted after 2:00 PM. A five percent (5%) bid security of the base bid and certificate of insurance are required with all bids.
A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 11:00 AM on October 20, 2020 at Fuller Park (lower level), 9987 Dunbarton Blvd. Barnwell, SC 29812.

Fuller Park Splash Pad & Playground RFP
Bids have been received, documented and are under review, per RFP guidelines.
The City of Barnwell has received the following Proposals for the Fuller Park Splash Pad and Playground. Due to the required evaluation of the proposals and the number received, a decision will be delayed until at such time recommendations can be made and a council meeting to accept the final recommendation can be established. Full council meeting with the recommendation for acceptance of a proposal will be on Monday, November 2, 2020.
